Its pretty real. In Japan, long work hours are VERY common. If you find yourself getting home at 7 PM, thats pretty good. Its also one of the reasons why Japanese are having less and less kids, and having them later in life. And so while this headline “Japanese man, 45, died of overwork” was shocking, it wasn’t new to me as a student of Human Resources.
