I didn’t see this advertised anywhere, but it seems the CHF3 was re-released on 9/16/09 with some fixes.
The changes can be found @ http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/511/cpsid_51180.html.
Either way, with the pre-9/16 version or the post-9/16 I am seeing errors occasionally on our servers.
The errors say: “coldfusion.runtime.J2eeSessionScopeStub cannot be cast to coldfusion.runtime.J2eeSessionScopeStub” and they match the one found by Terry Palmer @ http://cfteeps.blogspot.com/2009/09/hot-under-hotfix.html.
Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Yes, we also have the problem on a Linux Redhat 5.3 machine with CF8 Enterprise, Multi-server. We haven’t been able to isolate the issue on this staging server.
We have an open ticket with Adobe Platinum support, but have yet to determine the cause as Adobe cannot reproduce it. For now, I will wait to deploy it to production.
Yes, we also had the same problem on Windows 64-bit but only with one specific cluster using CF8.0.1 Multi-server. I removed the CHF3 and all is well once again. Very peculiar.
It’s my understanding that they’ve fixed it (I was informed by Enterprise Support), but didn’t have time to re-test. Download the lastest version (CHF 4 is out now), and give it a try
